Ci ha lasciati il compagno anarchico Franco Di Gioia.
Fino all’ultimo è rimasto lucido e attivo, nonostante le difficoltà di salute che lo avevano portato ad ultime atroci sofferenze.
Fino all’ultimo ha contribuito al pensiero e all’azione anarchica con scritti chiari e sostegno incondizionato.
Franco è stato un proletario, un anarchico, un combattente per quell’ideale che continueremo a condividere con lui.
La porta della sua casa di Grisolia, sulla costa tirrenica cosentina, è stata sempre aperta a tutti quei compagni che sono venuti a trovarlo, anche da lontano, fino a poco tempo fa e per tutti quei proletari che si incontravano con lui.
Ci ha insegnato la semplicità della risposta rivoluzionaria in ogni situazione.
Con lui se ne va un pezzo di storia dell’anarchia; con noi resta la chiarezza del suo pensiero, la forza del suo carattere, la capacità di sentire l’ingiustizia e l’urgenza di saperla restituire, senza scrupoli e senza pietà, a chi l’ha generata.
Lo ricordiamo nelle sue lotte con i lavoratori di Grisolia, fra operai e non per gli operai, per il suo sostegno verso i prigionieri, per il gruppo anarchico di Grisolia, con la sede che dava sulla piazza, animata dai suoi comizi pieni di pathos e partecipazione, per i convegni anarchici del centro sud, per la sua partecipazione alle battaglie di Comiso, per la diffusione del pensiero anarchico in Calabria, per il suo entusiasmo, la sua autenticità, la sua umanità, come anche ci ricordano i compagni che hanno lottato con lui.

Franco was a proletarian, an anarchist, a fighter for that ideal that we will continue to share with him.
The door of his home in Grisolia, on the Tyrrhenian coast of Cosenza, was always open to the many comrades who came to visit him until recently, also from afar, and for all the proletarians who met up with him.
He taught us the simplicity of the revolutionary response in all situations.
A piece of anarchist history goes with him; with us remains the clarity of his thought, the strength of his character and the ability to feel injustice and the urgency of knowing how to return it to those who generated it, without scruples and without mercy.
