Senza vittimismi. Due parole sul Primo Maggio a Berlino
Il 1 Maggio, ieri baleno di rivolte ammonitrici, è oggi l’idillio volgare delle sieste consacrate dal beneplacito padronale, delle chiacchiere bolse, delle baldorie rosse ignobili e sguaiate, mentre intorno, intorno ghignano le iene, si organizzano più esose le rapine, si medita più atroce l’ecatombe degli indocili […].
Fare che sul maggio svogliato e festaiolo dell’oggi spunti l’aurora fiammante del 1 Maggio del domani, e s’accenda alle sue fiamme corrusche la rivolta d’ogni giorno a tutti i gioghi della tirannide e dello sfruttamento.

Il 1 maggio un fiume di persone è sceso per le strade per prendere parte al “1 Maggio Rivoluzionario”, il corteo che ogni anno imperversa per le strade di Berlino. Quest’ultimo ha avuto delle peculiarità rispetto agli anni precedenti. Innanzitutto ha visto, sia nell’organizzazione che nella partecipazione, l’aggregazione di più realtà migranti che hanno portato all’interno delle rivendicazioni del corteo temi come l’anticolonialismo in un’ottica di lotta di classe. In secondo luogo, data la perpetua e ormai infinita “situazione emergenziale” che vive la città per via del virus, il corteo si è svolto senza il solito contorno di stronzi/e che partecipano alla “Myfest”, la classica festa del Primo Maggio che puntualmente si svolge a Kreuzberg, riversando nel quartiere centinaia di migliaia di persone in preda all’euforia di un party in cui tutto viene messo a profitto, dal suolo pubblico alla musica, dal divertimento all’eccesso. Ecco, normalmente il corteo del Primo Maggio, con le sue rivendicazioni, con la sua sete di conflitto e con la determinazione che lo ha costantemente contraddistinto, si è sempre trovato ad attraversare questo clima di festa generalizzata, una festa concessa e non più conquistata, che sembra voler affogare sotto fiumi di alcol e divertimento commercializzato non solo l’Idea (questa astratta esplosiva Nemica… beviamoci su!) dalla quale è nata la giornata dei lavoratori, ma anche i martiri, l’incontenbile tensione che li ha spinti a dare la vita per quell’Idea, e coloro che nei decenni sono sempre stati in prima linea per rivendicare tutto ciò. Quest’anno per le strade si è fatta politica attiva, nel senso buono del termine. In quanto a numeri si parla di ventimila partecipanti, scortati da migliaia di sbirri (compresa la polizia federale), chiamati come al solito anche da altre regioni della Germania a difesa della pace sociale e delle cosiddette (vecchie e nuove) norme anticontagio. La manifestazione era divisa in più blocchi e animata da realtà variegate.
Dopo essere partiti dal quartiere di Neukölln ed aver marciato in direzione di Kreuzberg, gli sbirri, usando come pretesto la solita mancanza del rispetto delle norme anti-Covid, decidono di fermare il corteo, probabilmente in maniera premeditata. Vogliamo mettere in chiaro che non ci sorprende né tanto meno ci interessa il fatto che i nostri nemici abbiano pianificato già dal principio quando, come e dove bloccarci, non ci stupiscono le tattiche messe in campo per raggiungere il loro fine. Stiamo parlando di sbirri e stare a disquisire su quanto siano infami e codardi ci sembra abbastanza ridicolo. Certi vittimismi risultano seriamente imbarazzanti. Certo fa sorridere la scusa accampata dai servi in divisa per “giustificare” le cariche, ovvero la mancanza di protezioni facciali anticontagio. Eravamo tutti e tutte ben travisati/e. E anche molto volentieri, oseremmo dire. Ad ogni modo, dopo aver bloccato la manifestazione, gli sbirri hanno separato il blocco dell’Interkiezionale dal resto, sperando di aver gioco facile nell’arrestare e massacrare gli anarchici, questi strani e loschi individui vestiti di nero. Avevano fatto male i conti. Dopo aver attaccato a calci e pugni il blocco in questione (in realtà ci sono state anche altre aggressioni in altri punti, con i dovuti controattacchi) le persone ed i/le compagni/e sono passati all’azione. Gli sbirri in pochissimo tempo hanno perso il controllo delle strade e, sotto una pioggia di sassi, bottiglie e materiale gentilmente offerto dal cantiere adiacente (nel frattempo invaso da decine di persone), sono stati costretti a riparare nelle strade secondarie. Ovviamente hanno provato a riprendersi l’incrocio, ma la scarica incessante di pietre e vetro li ha costretti, in più di un’ora di scontri, a numerose ritirate. Barricate sono state erette per impedirne il passaggio. Il fuoco ha illuminato e riscaldato gli animi di chi nei loro confronti prova solo un sano, profondo e irrefrenabile odio.

Qui di seguito un’incompleta cronologia degli eventi (tradotta da kontrapolis.info):
Ore 18:00 – Circa 20.000 persone si radunano a Hermannplatz per il corteo del “1 Maggio Rivoluzionario”. I blocchi si allineano.
19:00 – Con un ritardo di un’ora, si inizia. Le guardie tentano ripetutamente di rallentare il corteo, lo comprimono e allo stesso tempo pretendono distanze di sicurezza. Gli altoparlanti sparano in strada parole e musica, il corteo è molto misto e tutti/e sono a volto coperto. Esemplare. Gli sbirri quasi non si fanno vedere ai lati del corteo.
20:20 – Al Neukölln Arkarden gli sbirri pressano senza motivo il blocco anarchico. Quasi la metà del corteo, compreso il “blocco espropri” e il blocco dell’Interkiezionale, sono accusati di violare l’obbligo di mascherina. Fino a qualche tempo fa l’arte del travisamento era bandita e le guardie, intimorite da tutti quei volti coperti, sentivano il bisogno di avventarsi nelle manifestazioni, caricando. Ora a intimorirli è l’assenza del travisamento, a quanto pare vedono gente senza mascherina ovunque! Eppure eravamo tutti/e felicemente bardati! Arrivati all’altezza della Flughafenstrasse, caricano per irrompere nel corteo.
20:30 – Alcune persone iniziano a fare a pezzi il cantiere nella Fuldastrasse per poter continuare. Poco dopo gli sbirri li attaccano, volano bottiglie e pietre, si costruiscono barricate.
21:00 – All’altezza dell’isolato successivo c’è tensione con le guardie che continuano a tenere bloccata metà della manifestazione. Vengono travolte da una pioggia di pietre, bottiglie e listelli, le prime barricate vengono date alle fiamme.
21:10 – Gli sbirri hanno perso completamente il controllo dell’incrocio tra le vie Sonnenallee e Weichselstrasse. Diversi squadroni continuano a cercare di raggiungere l’incrocio, ma devono ritirarsi sotto la massiccia pioggia di detriti. Le vetrate del “BioCompany” vanno in frantumi, nelle vicinanze un SUV prende fuoco.
21:20 – Gli sbirri fuorisede della Sassonia e del Baden-Würtemberg hanno difficoltà a riprendere il controllo. Una parte di loro è costretta a scappare a gambe levate. Le barricate intanto bruciano su entrambi i lati di Sonnenallee, una occupa quasi tutta la strada e ricorda un po’ gli incendi del G20. I primi poliziotti cercano di entrare, ma vengono cacciati da una pioggia di bottiglie.
21:30 – Sempre più guardie arrivano da tutte le direzioni e lentamente riprendono il controllo dell’incrocio. Continuano gli scontri verso Hermannplatz e nelle strade vicine.
21:45 – Le strade sono ancora piene di gente. Barricate in fiamme sulla Panierstrasse e sulla Weserstrasse. L’elicottero continua a sorvolare il quartiere di Neukölln e migliaia di persone sono in movimento.
22:00 – Il coprifuoco entra in vigore, lentamente gli sbirri riprendono il controllo della situazione. I ponti verso Kreuzberg 36 sono bloccati da cordoni di sbirri, ci sono transenne ovunque e ad Oranienplatz – la piazza dove sarebbe dovuto finire il corteo – due dozzine di camionette e “Beleuchtungswagen” [blindati della polizia muniti di torri-faro per l’illuminazione di vaste aree in situazioni notturne] presidiano l’area.
22:30 – Continuano gli attacchi sporadici alle squadre di polizia, ma il vento è cambiato e ora soffia a favore degli sbirri.
23:00 – Da un cortile di Kottbusser Damm partono improvvisamente una serie di razzi e petardi. I fuorisede dell’unità BFE [unità speciali di prevenzione e arresto] del Baden-Wuerttemberg non osano entrare. Berlino non è Friburgo.
24:00 – Il Primo Maggio è andato.
Più di cinquanta tra fermati ed arrestati. Allo stato attuale sono tutti/e a piede libero, tranne tre persone che invece si trovano in custodia cautelare con le accuse di devastazione e saccheggio, aggressione e lesioni. Sono 97 gli sbirri finiti in ospedale.
Ci rivedremo il 15 maggio, al fianco dei nostri fratelli e sorelle del Köpi per difendere il Wagenplatz sotto sgombero!

No victimisation. A few words on 1st of May in Berlin
The 1st of May, yesterday a flash of cautionary revolts, is today the vulgar idyll of siestas consecrated by the owner’s approval, of boisterous chatter, of ignoble and boisterous red revelry, while all around, all around, the hyenas sneer, the robberies are organised more lavishly, the carnage of the unworthy is meditated upon more atrociously […].
So that over the listless and festive May of today, the blazing dawn of tomorrow’s 1st of May may dawns, and the daily revolt against all the yokes of tyranny and exploitation ignites in its glowing flames.

On the 1st of May a river of people took the streets to take part at the “Revolutionary 1st of May” demo, the rally that every year rages through the streets of Berlin. The latter had some peculiarities compared to previous years. First of all, both in the organisation and in the participation, several migrant realities joined together and brought into the claims of the manifestation themes such as anti-colonialism in a class struggle perspective. Secondly, given the perpetual and now endless “emergency situation” that the city is experiencing because of the virus, the rally took place without the usual surround of assholes who participate in the “Myfest”, the classic May Day party that takes place punctually in Kreuzberg, pouring into the district hundreds of thousands of people in the euphoria of a party where everything is used for the profit, from public land to music, from fun to excess. Normally, the 1st of may rally, with its claims, its thirst for conflict and the determination that has always distinguished it, has found itself in this climate of generalised party, a party that has been granted and no longer conquered, which seems to want to drown under rivers of alcohol and commercialised fun, not only the Idea (this abstract explosive Enemy… let’s drink up!) from which Workers’ Day was born, but also the martyrs, the irrepressible tension that drove them to give their lives for that Idea and those who over the decades have always been in the front line to claim all this. This year, active politics, in the best sense of the word, took to the streets. In terms of numbers, there were 20,000 participants, escorted by thousands of cops (including the federal police), called as usual from other parts of Germany to defend social peace and the so-called (old and new) infection-protection laws. The demonstration was divided into several blocks and animated by various realities.
After leaving the district of Neukölln and marching towards Kreuzberg, the cops, using the usual lack of compliance with the infection-protection rules as a pretext, decided to stop the demonstration, probably in a premeditated way. We would like to make it clear that we are not surprised and even less interested in the fact that our enemies planned from the beginning when, how and where to stop us, we are not surprised by the tactics they used to reach their goal. We are talking about cops, and to argue about how infamous and cowardly they are seems quite ridiculous. Certain victimisations are seriously embarrassing. Of course the excuse put forward by the uniformed servants to ‘justify’ the charges, i.e. the lack of anti-contagion facial protection, makes one smile. We were all well hooded and masked. And very willingly too, we dare say. Anyway, after blocking the demonstration, the cops separated the “Interkiezionale” block from the rest, hoping to have an easy time in arresting and slaughtering the anarchists, these shady, black-clad individuals. They had miscalculated. After kicking and punching the block in question (in reality there were also other attacks in other places with appropriate counter-attacks) the people and the comrades went into action. The cops quickly lost control of the streets and, under a rain of stones, bottles and material kindly offered by the adjacent construction site (in the meantime invaded by dozens of people), were forced to take shelter in the side streets. Of course they tried to take back the crossroads, but the incessant shower of stones and glass forced them to retreat and retreat in more than an hour of clashes. Barricades were erected to prevent them from passing. The fire illuminated and warmed the hearts of those who felt only a healthy, deep and unstoppable hatred towards them.

An incomplete chronicle of events (translated from kontrapolis.info):
6pm – Around 20,000 people gather at Hermannplatz for the revolutionary May Day demonstration. The blocks line up.
7 pm – The demonstration starts an hour late. Again and again the cops slow down the demonstration, compress the demo and at the same time demand distances. The loudspeakers play speeches and music, the demo is very mixed and everyone is masked. Exemplary. The cops are barely visible at the edge of the demo.
20:20 – At the Neukölln Arkarden the cops press without need the anarchist blockade. Almost half of the demo, including the “expropriation block” and the “Interkiezionale” block are accused of violating the mask requirement. Until recently, the art of covering up one’s face was outlawed and the guards, intimidated by all those covered faces, felt the need to rush into the demonstrations and charge. Now they are intimidated by the absence of mummery, apparently they see people without masks everywhere! And yet we were all happily covered-up! When they reach Flughafenstrasse, they charge to break into the demo.
20:30 – Some people start tearing up the building site in Fuldastrasse in order to continue. Shortly afterwards the cops attack them, bottles and stones fly, barricades are built.
21:00 – At the next crossroads there is tension with the cops who continue to keep half of the demonstration blocked. They are overwhelmed by a rain of stones, bottles and laths, the first barricades are set on fire.
21:10 – The cops have completely lost control of the Sonnenallee/Weichselstrasse intersection. Several squads continue to try to reach the intersection, but have to retreat under the massive shower of debris. The windows of the “BioCompany” are shattered, nearby an SUV catches fire.
21:20 – The out-of-town cops from Saxony and Baden-Würtemberg have difficulty regaining control. Some of them are forced to run back. In the meantime, barricades are burning on both sides of Sonnenallee, one of them occupying almost the whole street and somewhat reminiscent of the G20 fires. The first cops try to enter, but they are chased away by a rain of bottles.
21:30 – More and more cops arrive from all directions and slowly regain control of the intersection. Clashes continue towards Hermannplatz and in nearby streets.
21:45 – The streets are still full of people. Burning barricades on Panierstrasse and Weserstrasse. The helicopter continues to fly over the Neukölln district and thousands of people are on the move.
22:00 – The curfew comes into force, slowly the cops regain control of the situation. The bridges to Kreuzberg 36 are blocked by cordons of cops, there are barriers everywhere and at Oranienplatz – the square where the procession was supposed to end – two dozen trucks and “Beleuchtungswagen” (police armoured vehicles equipped with searchlights to illuminate large areas at night) guard the area.
22:30 – Sporadic attacks on the police teams continue, but the wind has changed and is now blowing in favour of the cops.
23:00 – From a courtyard in Kottbusser Damm a series of rockets and firecrackers suddenly go off. The out-of-towners of the BFE unit [special prevention and arrest units] from Baden-Wuerttemberg do not dare to enter. Berlin is not Freiburg.
24:00 – May Day is over.
More than fifty arrested and detained. At the moment almost everyoune is free. 3 of them are on remand on charges of devastation, assault and injury. 97 cops were injured.
We will meet again on 15 May, alongside our Köpi’s brothers and sisters to defend the Wagenplatz under eviction!

Keine Opferrolle. Ein paar Worte zum 1. Mai in Berlin
Der 1. Mai, gestern noch ein Blitz der mahnenden Revolte, ist heute die vulgäre Idylle der heiligen Siesta der Besitzenden, des ungestümen Geschwätzes, des schändlichen und ungestümen roten Rummels, während ringsumher die Hyänen spötteln, die Ausbeutung noch maßloser wird, das Abschlachten der Unwürdigen in immer grausamerer Weise erfolgt […].
Damit auf den lustlosen und festlichen Mai von heute die flammende Morgenröte des morgigen 1. Mai dämmert und mit ihren lodernden Flammen, die Revolte eines jeden Tages gegen alle Tyrannei und Ausbeutung entzündet.

Am 1. Mai ging ein Strom von Menschen auf die Straße, um an der Revolutionären 1.Mai Demo teilzunehmen. Letztere wies zu den Vorjahren einige Besonderheiten auf. Sowohl bei der Organisation der Demo, als auch in der Teilnahme sahen wir das Zusammenkommen verschiedener migrantischer Realitäten, die eine antikoloniale und klassenkämpferische Perspektive in die Demo einbrachten. Außerdem fand die Demo, angesichts der weiter andauernden und nun endlosen “Notsituation”, in der die Stadt wegen des Viruses lebt, ohne die übliche Umgebung von Arschlöcherns statt, die sonst am MyFest teilnehmen. Die klassische erste Mai Feier, die in Kreuzberg stattfindet und hunderttausende Menschen in den Bezirk strömen lässt, in die Euphorie einer Party, bei der vom öffentlichen Raum bis zur Musik, vom Spaß bis zum Exzess alles zu Profit gemacht wird. Normalerweise befindet sich die Demo am 1. Mai mit ihrem Konfliktdrang, mit der ihr eigenen Entschlossenheit und ihren Ansprüchen in diesem Klime der verallgemeinerten Feier. Einem Fest, das gewährt wird und nicht mehr erkämpft, welches in Flüssen von Alkohol und kommerzialisierten Spaß die Idee (diese abstrakte und explosive Freundin .. lasst uns darauf trinken!) ertrinken will, aus welcher der Tag der Arbeit geboren wurde. Aber auch die Märtyrer, die unbändige Kraft, die sie dazu brachte, ihr Leben für diese Idee zu geben und auch all diejenigen, die im Laufe der Jahrzehne immer in der ersten Reihe standen um all dies zu behaupten. Dieses Jahr fand aktive Politik, im guten Sinne des Wortes, auf der Straße statt. 20.000 Menschen auf der Straße von tausenden Polizisten -einschließlich der Bundespolizei- begleitet. Wie üblich wurde die Polizei aus anderen Regionen Deutschlands gerufen, um den sozialen Frieden und die sogenannten (alten und neuen) Infektionsschutzmaßnahmen zu verteidigen.
Die Demonstration war in mehrere Blöcke geteilt und wurde durch verschieden Realitäten belebt. Nachdem man den Bezirk Neukölln verlassen und in Richtung Kreuzbergs gelaufen war, beschlossen die Bullen unter dem üblichen Vorwand -Missachtung der Corona Maßnahmen- die Demo zu stoppen. Wir wollen klarstellen, dass es uns nicht überrascht, das unsere Feinde von Anfang an geplant haben wann, wie und wo sie uns blockiert haben und es uns noch weniger interessiert, welche Taktiken sie anwenden, um ihre Ziele zu erreichen. Wir sprechen hier über Polizisten und alle Debatten darüber, inwieweit sie Feiglinge oder hinterhältig sind, scheinen und ziemlich lächerlich. Eine solche Selbstbemittleidung ist wirklich peinlich. Natürlich lässte es einen schmunzeln, wenn die Diener in Uniform ihren Angriff mit fehlenden Mund Nasen Schutz zu “rechtfertigen”. Wir waren alle vorbildlich vermummt und das auch sehr gerne, würden wir sagen. Wie auch immer, nachdem sie die Demonstration blockiert hatten, trennten die Bullen den Interkieztionale Block vom Rest. In der Hoffnung in leichtes Spiel zu haben und die Anarchistinnen, diese verdächtigen, merkwürdigen in Schwarz gekleideten Menschen zu verhaften und verprügeln. Sie haben sich verrechnet. Nach Tritten und Schlägen gegen die Block (auch an anderen Orten gab es Angriffe auf die Demo und entsprechende Gegenangriffe) gingen die Leute und die GenossInnen in Aktion. Die Bullen verloren in kürzester Zeit die Kontrolle über die Straßen und waren gezwungen sich unter einem Regen von Steinen, Flaschen und anderen Material, welches freundlicherweise von einer angrenzenden Baustelle angeboten wurde, in die Seitenstraßen zurückzuziehen. Sie versuchten die Kreuzung zurückzuerobern, aber der ständige Bewurf zwang sie zu zahlreichen Rückzügen. Es wurden Barrikaden errichtet, um die Bewegung der Bullen zu verhindern. Das Feuer erhellt und wärmt die Stimmung aller, die einen gesunden, tiefen und unaufhaltsamen Hass gegen sie empfinden.

Hier ist eine unvollständige Chronologie der Ereignisse (aus kontrapolis.info):
18 Uhr – Auf dem Hermannplatz sammeln sich ca. 20.000 Menschen zur revolutionären 1. Mai-Demonstration. Die Blöcke stellen sich auf.
19 Uhr – Mit einer Stunde Verspätung geht es los. Immer wieder bremsen die Bullen die Demo, komprimieren die Demo und fordern gleichzeitig Abstände ein. Auf den Lautsprecherwägen laufen Redebeiträge und Musik, die Demo ist stark durchmischt und alle sind vermummt. Vorbildlich. Die Bullen lassen sich am Rand der Demo kaum blicken.
20:20 Uhr – An den Neukölln Akkarden drängen die Bullen völlig ohne Not den anarchischen Block. Knapp der Hälfte der Demo inklusive Enteignungsblock und dem Interkiezionale Block wird vorgeworfen, gegen die Maskenpflicht zu verstoßen. Wo sonst die Bullen reinrocken, weil alle vermummt sind, sehen sie jetzt Unvermummte wo alle Maske tragen. Aus der Flughafenstraße kommend kloppen sie sich in die Demo.
20:30 Uhr – Ein paar Leute fangen an die Baustelle in der Fuldastraße auseinanderzunehmen, um weiterlaufen zu können. Kurz darauf greifen die Bullen diese an, erste Flaschen und Steine fliegen zurück, Barrikaden werden zum Schutz gebaut.
21:00 Uhr – Eine Straße weiter kommt es zu Spannungen mit den Bullen, die die Hälfte der Demo weiter gefangen halten. Es hagelt Steine, Flaschen und Latten, erste Barrikaden werden in Brand gesetzt.
21:10 Uhr – Die Bullen haben die Kontrolle über die Kreuzung Sonnenallee Weichselstraße völlig verloren. Mehrere Trupps versuchen immer wieder auf die Kreuzung zu kommen, müssen sich unter massivem Bewurf aber zurückziehen. Die Scheiben der BioCompany klirren, in der Nähe fängt ein SUV Flammen.
21:20 Uhr – Die angereisten Bullen aus Baden-Würtemberg und Sachsen-Anhalt tun sich schwer die Kontrolle wieder zu erlangen. Eine Wanne muss Reißaus nehmen. Auf beiden Seiten der Sonnenallee brennen Barrikaden, eine nimmt fast die ganze Straße ein und erinnert ein wenig an die Feuer in der Schanze bei G20. Die ersten Bullen versuchen ranzukommen, werden aber unter Flaschenhagen verjagt.
21:30 Uhr – Immer mehr Bullen kommen aus allen Richtungen und kriegen die Kreuzung langsam wieder unter Kontrolle. Dafür geht es weiter oben Richtung Hermannplatz und in den Nachbarstraßen ab.
21:45 Uhr – Die Straßen sind immer noch voll mit Leuten. Auf der Panier- und auf der Weserstraße brennen Barrikaden. Immer noch kreist der Heli über Neukölln und tausende Menschen sind unterwegs.
22:00 Uhr – Die Ausgangssperre tritt in Kraft, langsam kriegen die Bullen die Lage unter Kontrolle. Die Brücken nach Kreuzberg 36 sind versperrt mit mehreren Ketten, dort warten ohnehin nur Gitter und am Oranienplatz – dem eigentlichen Endpunkt der Demo – zwei dutzend Wannenbesatzungen und Beleuchtungswagen.
22:30 Weiterhin kommt es vereinzelt zu Angriffen auf Wannen und Bullentrupps. In der Hasenheide findet ein kleiner Rave statt. Das Blatt hat sich jedoch wieder zu Gunsten der Bullen gwendet.
23:00 Aus einem Hinterhof am Kottbusser Damm kommen plötzlich massenweise Raketen und Böller. Das badenwürtembergesche BFE traut sich aber nicht rein. Berlin ist nunmal nicht Freiburg.
24:00 1. Mai ist vorbei.
Mehr als fünfzig wurden verhaftet. Derzeit sind alle auf freiem Fuß, außer drei Personen, die sich wegen schwere Landfriedensbruch, Angriff und Körperverletzung in Untersuchungshaft befinden. 93 verlezte Bullen landeten im Krankenhaus.
